Infrastructure Ontario – West Donlands Economic Impact Analysis

In collaboration with Urban Strategies Inc., urbanMetrics prepared a report summarizing the key economic impacts generated by a series of strategic public investments ($400M) championed by the Province of Ontario, under the direction and coordination of Infrastructure Ontario. The primary purpose of this analysis was to provide an independent economic impact assessment of the Province’s overall capital investments in the West Don Lands in advance of the PanAm and ParapanAm Games in 2015.
Our analysis highlighted the economic impacts and benefits relating to the development of new educational facilities, affordable and market housing, health and recreation facilities, public transit, parks and open spaces, as well as other municipal infrastructure.
