Kelso/Glen Eden Park Master Plan

Kelso/Glen Eden is one of Canada’s most popular outdoor recreation areas. The Park is home to one of Ontario’s busiest ski areas and supports a significant four-season recreational program that includes mountain bike trails, hiking and cross-country ski trails, climbing and rope adventure attractions. The Park also provides educational and ecological services that are critical to the wellbeing of its watershed planning area.

In association with Dillon Consulting Limited, urbanMetrics was retained to undertake a market feasibility study and business case to support long-range program and capital investment.  As part of our mandate, we consulted with local stakeholders and park users to identify the impacts of urban growth and aging demographics on park usage over the next 25-30 years. As part of our work, we developed visitation and business forecasts, identifying new streams of revenue and opportunities for more cost-effective user experiences.
