10 Year Economic Master Plan
About the project
urbanMetrics was retained by the City of Sarnia under the leadership of Sarnia Economic Development to prepare a 10-year master plan (strategy) focused on specific actions and key city assets which will drive investment and growth over the next decade.
The Master Plan prepared by urbanMetrics involved extensive consultation with City, business, resident, institutional and other community stakeholders. Our Master Plan considered the role real estate assets owned and operated by the City of Sarnia, including both the recreational marina(s) and the industrial harbour, play in driving the local and regional economy forward. Moreover, the study considered the role that Sarnia’s marina and harbour operations play on the economic well-being of the City’s downtown and tourism sector, including a growing market for recreational cruising on the Great Lakes.
The Master Plan was approved by Sarnia Council in May 2025.
