About the project
Stettler is a small community in Alberta that serves as an important regional hub for rural residents as well as workers in the oil and gas sector.
urbanMetrics was retained by the Town of Stettler to provide an analysis of current and future market conditions to support and attract new businesses to the community. The analysis involved developing an understanding of current population, employment and land dynamics in the community and identifying opportunities for growth. Mobile analytics and commercial inventories were conducted to develop a data-driven understanding of the market draw of the community. Additionally, population and employment projections, community surveys and an assessment of industrial land supply informed an assessment of growth dynamics in the community. The deliverable provided implementable and tangible recommendations for the municipality to best position the community to continue to support business and population growth into the future.
