About the project
urbanMetrics was retained by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL), to lead a community facilitation project to review and evaluate potential refinements to the current heritage incentive program offered by the Town and its partners, Niagara Region.
urbanMetrics provided an independent assessment of stakeholder opinions related to a more permanent form of heritage tax relief which would replace (or augment) the current application-based grant system that relies on matching funds.
As part of this mandate, urbanMetrics conducted face-to-face interviews, implemented a community-wide online survey for residents and business in NOTL and hosted a Town Hall event powered by live audience polling devices.
