urbanMetrics was retained by Oxford Properties Group to support a major urban development project in downtown Toronto, Union Park West. UPW is a major redevelopment project in downtown comprising 5 million square feet, accompanied by an innovative public space developed over a major commuter rail corridor (rail deck park). Working alongside Urban Strategies and the BA Group, urbanMetrics prepared an economic impact study to support Oxford’s application submitted to the City of Toronto in 2019.
Our work provided order of magnitude estimates related to employment yields, economic spin-offs and tax revenue uplift. urbanMetrics is also providing support to Oxford in its discussions related to the City’s Imagination, Manufacturing, Innovation & Technology (IMIT) incentive program intended to attract key business sectors to the downtown core.
